Website Build Process
- Step one --Preliminary Design
-
Creating a new web site can often be a very intimidating undertaking. This is because the experience is new for most people and they simply don't know where to start. Also because everybody has a budget for their project, one must keep accurate track of costs. IWM has developed a build process which should make things easier for you. - Build a wish list by going through the pages of this site, reviewing each capability. If you find something that you think you need, just click the "add to cart" button and that capability will be recorded in your shopping cart. We will add 50% of the cost of that item to the cart total so that you can keep track of project costs.
- After you build your wish list you can review the total costs in the shopping cart. Remember that the actual total cost of your project will be double the cart total. If that does not fit within your budget, you can remove capabilities from the cart.
- When you are satisfied that you have come up with a project cost that you can live with, simply print out your cart contents and you will have an instant quote. Contact us as soon as possible for your free initial consultation. You can also click the "check out" button. You will then be charged for 50% of the total project cost. If at any time during step one or step two of this process you decide that you no longer wish to continue with this project you can cancel and all of this money will be refunded in full.
- Step two -- Initial Consultation
-
This is a very important part of the design process. You will be contacted by the designer to discuss the overall project. Each item in your wish list will be discussed with you in detail so that the designer can get a better feeling for your intent for each part of the design. During this step the designer will also recommend ways to reduce the project cost and ensure a high level of performance and reliability for your site. If necessary the designer will also help you find a host for your future web site and/or help you set up a PayPal account. There is no charge for work accomplished during this step.
At the conclusion of this step, a list of all agreed to requirements will have been generated and an approach will have been agreed to. This document will form the basis for the design. The deposits which were paid during the first step will now be considered to be a nonrefundable down payment for the project.
- Step three -- First cut design
-
In this step, the designer will gather and upload required software for your project. This software will be modified as appropriate in order to fulfill the requirements and approach agreed to during the previous step. As the site is developed, you will be encouraged to recommend changes to the design. Your ultimate satisfaction is very important to us. All reasonable recommendations will be honored.
- Step four-- Final implementation and test
-
Your web site will be tested using a number of popular browsers. At the conclusion of this test and your final acceptance of the design, the remainder of the project costs will be due.
